Maxar Puerto Rico has a rich legacy of technology innovation and excellence in Puerto Rico and across the globe. Our roots go back to 2003, where we started life as Wovenware, a custom software and AI services firm. Leveraging Agile methodologies, design thinking and custom software development and AI services, we earned the respect of the industry for 23+ years, delivering custom engineered solutions that empowered businesses with the digital tools they needed then and into the future. As testament to our success, in 2022 we were acquired by geospatial intelligence powerhouse, Maxar Intelligence, extending its deep bench of tech talent and customer missions from our local office and maintaining the bedrock of technology innovation that we established at our founding.
In Puerto Rico, we call Puerto Ricans or those of Puerto Rican descent, “boricuas.” Here at Maxar Puerto Rico we take that name one step further – we see ourselves as boricuas in tech, helping to shape the future of geospatial intelligence.

The Maxar Puerto Rico office, comprised of world-class software engineers, project managers, software developers, digitizers and designers, together represent years of expertise and experience. The office is led by Christian González, VP and General Manager; and Carlos Meléndez, VP, Operations, Maxar Intelligence; who also were cofounders of Wovenware.
As VP, Operations, Carlos helps the Maxar Intelligence technology team deliver advanced AI and software solutions to government and commercial clients.
Carlos is a member and past chairman of the board of ConPRmetidos. Prior to Maxar Intelligence, Carlos was Chief Technology Officer of Wovenware, which he founded with Christian González in 2003.
Christian has been VP, General Manager of Maxar Intelligence Puerto Rico since 2022. Before cofounding Wovenware in 2003, Christian held key software engineering positions with e-Nabler, an e-commerce solutions provider, and Metro Information Services.
Christian is currently a member of the state board of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

In January 2025, Wovenware, a Maxar Intelligence Company, formally transformed to Maxar Puerto Rico, becoming fully integrated into Maxar Intelligence, and supporting client missions with advanced data labeling and AI development, software development and UX design services.

In 2023, we proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary as a world-leading custom software and AI service provider, with a growing and vibrant client roster, strong industry partnerships and a staff comprised of more than 240 dedicated professionals.

Wovenware was acquired by world-renowned geospatial intelligence company, Maxar Intelligence, a company that was a Wovenware client since 2017. This acquisition marked a turning point in Wovenware’s journey, as it became part of a world-class team supporting critical client missions across government and commercial markets.

In the year 2020, Wovenware embarked on a new venture by introducing its Design Experience Consultancy. Through specialized expertise in UX/UI, it became a full lifecycle solutions provider for clients aiming to excel in today's rapidly evolving business landscape.
