Hurricane Michael is expected to make landfall along Florida’s northeastern Gulf Coast the afternoon of Wednesday, October 10, 2018. A Category 4 or stronger hurricane has never made landfall in the Florida Panhandle. Life-threatening storm surge and over 100 mph winds are expected. Inland areas could be left without power because of the extreme winds. The National Weather Service has told all coastal residents to evacuate.
