Tropical Storm Ana has caused widespread flooding and destruction in Mozambique, Malawi and Madagascar. In Mozambique, more than 20,000 people have been affected by the storm, and more than 3,000 homes are partially damaged and over 600 buildings are destroyed. In neighboring Malawi, the storm led to major power cuts as the floods damaged electricity installations. Torrential rains displaced more than 55,000 people in Madagascar’s capital due to rising river levels. Death tolls have been reported in all areas.
